All I can say is that I love this series. Though it’s still a little hard to follow what’s happening, the way it’s shot and the ambience is just dripping with menace. The acting has been top rate with Warren being properly brooding, but my gosh what a surprise ending.

Finally I have Warren’s first episode of the USA television series EYEWITNESS done. After about, oh, a dozen or so glitches finally. Between computer crashes, software crapping out, and overall just Mercury in retrograde, they’re finally here. Well Warren is really good at playing the strong silent type. He looks like he’s hardcore bad ass here. Hopefully as the show progresses we get to not only see him, which is top drawer, we also get to hear him. Ah well, can’t get what you want all the time…but wouldn’t it be nice?

Warren was interviewed by Entertainment Tonight about the pilot episode for his new show EYEWITNESS where he plays the part of Ryan Kane. If you read the interview and the About Ryan Kane in the sidebar, you’ll find out more about the character. As for screencaps from the episode, I’m trying to edit a good copy of the episode. I’ll have it up in the gallery once I’m done.

EXCLUSIVE: Why USA’s Gripping New Crime Thriller ‘Eyewitness’ Will Give You Nightmares (in a Good Way!)

Eyewitness may be your new killer obsession.

Based on the Norwegian series Øyevitne, USA Network’s intense new drama kicks off in violent fashion when two 15-year-old teenage boys, Philip and Lukas (Tyler Young and James Paxton), secretly meet in the woods, only to witness a multiple homicide. When the murderer, Ryan Kane (Warren Christie), sees them, the teens escape and make a pact to keep their romantic relationship and eyewitness account secret for fear of being discovered by the killer.

“It’s intense from the very beginning and continues that [way] from where we go,” Christie tells ET. “It was one of those experiences where I felt like a lot of things clicked, and hopefully that shows onscreen.”

There’s an uneasiness permeating throughout the 10-episode drama series, with its hauntingly stunning visuals — much of that is credited to Catherine Hardwicke, who directed the first two episodes — and sleepy town demeanor that lends itself perfectly to the intensifying murder case unfolding at the center of it all.

According to Christie, the character of Ryan is much more than a psychopathic murderer on a killing spree, as viewers will discover as the season slowly unfolds. In a future episode, he becomes incorporated into the case, being investigated by Sheriff Helen Torrance (Julianne Nicholson), in another unexpected way.

“We introduce my character in a fairly violent way,” Christie says of the premiere’s unsettling opening scene. “The first couple of episodes, I don’t say a lot, which was an interesting challenge to try and portray this guy so we understand who he is, without a big, long dialogue scene explaining who he is.”

Christie, who veered away from the original Norwegian series once he was cast (“I’d love to watch it now,” he says), read “a fair amount” on serial killer Ted Bundy to get a richer idea of the complex headspace someone like Ryan would be in.

“Everyone who spoke about [Ted Bundy] before he turned out to be a horrible, murderous man said he was so charming and I thought that was an interesting aspect,” the actor explains, adding that he hoped to infuse a bit of that charm into his character. “Ryan’s a little disarming at times, because he has his charming moments and I hope that’s what keeps viewers entertained, that you’ll see different sides to who this guy is and who he becomes.”

Christie concedes Eyewitness isn’t for the faint of heart, but notes if there’s one reason to watch on Sunday, it’s the blossoming (and complicated) love story between Philip and Lukas. (Plus, there’s a Golden State Warriors joke thrown in for good measure.)

“Tyler and James, the two of them, are really beautiful in the storyline that they do and I think it’s important,” he says, praising his young co-stars. “They put so much heart into it. They did beautiful work, and that’s enough reason [for] people to tune in.”

Only ET has the exclusive first look at Sunday’s gripping premiere episode. See the intense photos below.

Eyewitness premieres Sunday, Oct. 16 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on USA Network.

There’s a new article on Warren’s new series EYEWITNESS where he plays the part of Ryan Kane. Here the most recent edition of TV Guide, highlights the drama. The scan is uploaded to the gallery, however, I’ll include the text of it so you don’t have click on the article to read it.

Eyewitness SERIES PREMIERE Sunday, Oct. 16, 10/9c, USA

USA’s newest crime series, Eyewitness, joins an increasingly crowded field of anthology tales this fall (American Horror Story, Secrets and Lies), but executive producer Adi Hasak (Shades of Blue) is confident this one will stand out. “We’re trying to rewrite the genre,” Hasak says. Adapted from the Norwegian series Øyevitne, the show will center on—per the title—the eyewitness to a crime. Season 1 follows a pair of teen boys (Tyler Young and James Paxton) harboring a secret preventing them from notifying police (including Julianne Nicholson, above) after observing a bloody shootout in an isolated cabin in upstate New York. “We have this obsession with the voyeurism of a protagonist who witnesses a crime” Hasak says, comparing the premise to the Alfred Hitchcock classic Rear Window. But the team is more interested in layered characters than standard whodunit elements. “The audience knows something nobody else does, which is who the killer is,” he says. “It becomes a much more riveting psychological character study.” —John Russell

Hello & welcome to ASCENSION :: WARREN CHRISTIE ONLINE a website dedicated to Canadian actor Warren Christie. I first came to know of Warren’s work from his two years as the hyperkinetic former Marine Cameron Hicks on the Syfy series ALPHAS starring alongside Academy Award Nominated Actor David Strathairn and Laura Mennell. Warren impressed me with his portrayal of Hicks and I found myself loving what he brought to the screen in terms of his dedication and energy. I put together a site for David Strathairn, and a little while later one of Laura Mennell (you can find links to both in the sidebar under ExLibris), and at some point I thought of making one for Warren I just didn’t feel I could with all my other sites (again to be found in the sidebar) needing so much of my time. However, after changing the layouts of both David and Laura’s sites, I thought there was no time like the present for this site for Warren. So it is in that spirit we are here for any and all Warren Christie fans. Here’s hoping for a long life and a long association serving Warren’s fans with all the latest news and information regarding his career. Feel free to browse the site and to make sure to come back often to see updates and more.
